Unemployed man charged with theft of 2 bicycles in Lagos

Lagos-A 22-year-old unemployed man was on Wednesday arraigned in Lagos for allegedly stealing two bicycles valued at N15, 000.

The accused, Odinaka Nnjibe, whose address was not disclosed, is facing a two-count charge bordering on stealing before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court.

Prosecutor Ishola Samuel told the court that the accused committed the offences on July 22 at Kehinde Alamo Street, Ilupeju, Lagos.

According to the prosecutor, the accused stole the bicycles from the residence of the comaplainant, Tope Kuyoro.

“The complainant caught the accused in the act and reported the theft at the police station which led to the arrest of the accused.’’

The offences contravened Sections 285 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

The accused pleaded not guilty and was granted a N50, 000 bail with two sureties in like sum.

The Magistrate, Mrs A. R. Onilogbo, adjourned the case to Sept. 26 for mention.
