The Lagos State Commissioner for Sports, Wahid Enitan-Oshodi, on Friday predicted that Tunde Ajagbe would win the ongoing Lagos International Squash Classic in Lagos.
Enitan-Oshodi told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the Egyptian player, Hesham Mohammed, in the tournament also had a good chance, expressing optimism about Ajagbe’s chances to excel.
“The Egyptians players look very strong and I think the slight difference is with their exposure.
“I’m quite pleased with Tunde Ajagbe; he played very well yesterday by defeating the home based number one Sodiq.
“With a bit more confidence I think he can go all the way. Also, Ehime Ehalem knocked out the number one seed yesterday.
“You must give him chance to win this tournament. It will be pleasing if we can get one of them (to win). But, I like Ajagbe because, he was very composed.
“He is still very young and what we like here is he is just finishing school. It’s very important that you do your sports while you are in school.
Ajagbe will engage Hesham Mohammed of Egypt in the first male semi-final while Ehime Ehalem will lock horns with Rodney Durbach of South Africa in the second semi-final.
