MINNA – The National Examinations Council (NECO) on Friday released the June/July 2016 Senior Secondary Schools results, recording 1% improvement in the general performance of candidates compared to 2015.
Announcing this at NECO Headquarters in Minna, Registrar of the Council, Prof. Charles Uwakwe, said the general performance of candidates in 2016 is 88.51% compared to 87.51% recorded in 2015.
According to him, 88.51% of the candidates got at least five credits including Mathematics and English Language.
Further breakdown shows that 905, 011, representing 84.54% of the candidates got 5 credits and above in English Language while 812, 846, representing 80.16% got 5 credits and above in Mathematics.

Prof Uwakwe said analysis of candidates performance by State shows Ekiti State recording the highest of 96.48% and Katsina State recording the least with 72.59%.
Speaking further, he said the results of 43,905 candidates in malpractice spreading across 194 schools have been cancelled.
The Registrar called on candidates who sat for the examination to access their results on NECO Website.
A total of 1,022,474 candidates in Nigeria and other countries wrote the June/July 2016 examinations out of 1,027,016 who registered.
Speaking further, he said the results of 43,905 candidates in malpractice spreading across 194 schools have been cancelled.
The Registrar called on candidates who sat for the examination to access their results on NECO Website.
A total of 1,022,474 candidates in Nigeria and other countries wrote the June/July 2016 examinations out of 1,027,016 who registered.
