ILORIN – An Ilorin Magistrates’ Court on Monday remanded six accused persons in prison custody for allegedly setting ablaze one Saka Sheu.
The accused persons are Kamal Akeem, Sherif Isiak, Jamiu Salimon, Owolabl Lawal, Suleiman Abubakar and Shola Yusuf.
The Prosecutor, Sgt. Adekunle Mayowa, said that the accused were arraigned on two-count charge of criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide contrary to Sections 97 and 221 of the Penal Code Law.
Mayowa said that the accused persons conspired and attacked Sheu.
He said the accused persons thereafter set their victim ablaze, accusing him of been a kidnapper.
The prosecutor, however, told the court that their victim was an innocent person suffering from mental illness.
The accused persons, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Magistrate, Joel Michael, ordered the accused persons to be remanded at the Okekura Prison in Ilorin.
He adjourned the case to May 12 for mention. (NAN)
