ADO-EKITI – Mrs Risi Fajuyi, 39, on Monday approached an Ado-Ekiti Customary Court, seeking dissolution of her 10-year-old marriage to Mr Ayodele Fajuyi.
Risi told the court that she wanted the marriage dissolved over frequent fighting, lack of care
According to her, the husband always beats her whenever she returns from work over unsubstantiated claim that she was going out with another man.
The mother of two also said that the husband had not been giving her money to cook, but always gave their children the money.
She claimed that most of the time, the husband’s first son and his sister would return from work and beat her up.
She prayed the court to grant her custody of the second child since the children were currently living with their father.
Fajuyi, 60, denied the allegations, saying he had never fought his wife.
He said his wife was fond of quarrelling with his sister because they were living in a family house.
The respondent further said that he had been taking care of his wife, adding that he once bought her a grinding machine and secured a job for her.
Ayodele said he would not release any of the children to the wife, alleging that she was not capable of taking good care of them.
The court’s president, Mr Ogunsemi Joseph, adjourned further hearing of the case till June 10 for the couple to try and settle the matter amicably. (NAN)
