Dutse – The Jigawa Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), says it arrested 25 suspects and recovered 27.207 kilogrammes of assorted narcotics in November.
The NDLEA State Commander, Mr Abdullahi Abdul, disclosed this on Tuesday in Dutse in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
“The Jigawa command of the NDLEA was able to seize 27.207 kg of various illicit drugs in the month of November 2016.
“The major seizure was in the area of cannabis sativa which weighted 13.861 kg.
“The seizures were made at different locations in the state.
“Equally, 25 suspects were also arrested during the said period,” Abdul said.
He listed the drugs seized to include tramadol, rohyznol, cough syrups, among others.
According to him, the command also secured 10 convictions at the Federal High Court, Dutse.
The NDLEA boss reiterated the resolve of the agency to make the state drug abuse-free.
