CAF Confederation Cup: NFF Inspects FC IfeanyiUbah Stadium

Awka –  A Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) team have inspected the FC IfeanyiUbah International Stadium, Nnewi in Anambra, to ascertain its readiness to host the CAF Confederation Cup.

The club’s Media Officer, Ikenna Nwokedi, said on Friday in Awka that the three-man inspection team was expected to make appropriate recommendations for the facility’s upgraded to qualify to host home matches of IfeanyiUbah.

He said the team was led by Bola Oyeyode, NFF’s Director of Competitions, while Christian Emeruwa, National Integrity Officer and Abdurafiu Yusuf, Assistant Technical Director were members.

According to Nwokedi, Oyeyode used the inspection visit to sensitise the club’s players on the high responsibilities they have in being not just ambassadors of Anambra but the entire country.

Oyeyode, expressed satisfaction with the inroads made already by the president and management of FC IfeanyiUbah, and the team’s exploits in the past season.

“You are to see yourselves as worthy ambassadors who should always put up good conduct that befits your present status.’’

He dwelt extensively on the nitty-gritty of international football participation, technicalities associated with the game, 17 Laws of the game and sanctions that come with non-compliance.

Nwokedi said the NFF team was conducted around the stadium by top officials of the club.

He added that some of the areas of interest to the team were the stadium capacity, dimension of the pitch, pavilion and stands, lightings, media center, dressing rooms and conveniences.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that FC IfeanyiUbah will fly the country’s flag in the continental competition that will commence in February.
