Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte, has said that this could be an important week for their title hopes, as they face two tough Premier League fixtures in five days.
The Blues travel to Liverpool on Tuesday, before hosting Arsenal at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
Conte’s men lost consecutive league matches to Liverpool and Arsenal in September, but have won 17 of 19 games in all competitions ever since and are right points clear on top of the table.
“This week is very important,” Conte told Chelsea TV.
“We’ll have two tough games against two teams that for me can fight to win the title.
“It’s important to prepare in the right way and to think game by game. Now it’s important to think against Liverpool, to have a good performance and to try to have a good result. Then we’ll think about Arsenal.”
On the other hand, Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, has insisted that it is not possible to get any lower, after they werent sent packing from two cup competitions in three days, with a tie against Chelsea up next.
The 2-1 loss in the FA Cup to Wolverhampton Wanderers at Anfield, followed home defeats to Southampton in the EFL Cup semi-final and Swansea in the Premier League
Liverpool have not lost four straight matches at home since 1923 and Klopp says things cannot get worse.
“If someone asks if this is the lowest point of my Liverpool time until now, I don’t know,” he said. “But if it is it is a perfect moment to turn because it is not possible to go lower,” he said.
“I don’t think it is the right time to talk about being positive or optimistic. In this moment we feel really bad. It is absolutely right that it feels bad and we have to use it in this moment.”
