An integrated payments company, Interswitch, says it has offered ten Nigerians who had interest in technology and Information Technology full year scholarships to the Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology in Accra, Ghana.
A statement by Ayeni Adekunle on behalf of the company said the Interswitch-MEST partnership, which marks the first time non-Ghanaian students would be offered the opportunity to study at MEST, would ensure that Nigerian entrepreneurs are equipped with the skills they need to grow successful businesses. [eap_ad_1] “The Interswitch MEST programme will provide the entrepreneurs with practical training, investment and mentoring as they will be encouraged to establish successful enterprises that will serve as vibrant platforms to further create wealth and jobs across Africa.
“Interswitch, whose business footprint covers provision of shared, integrated e-Payment solutions for financial and non-financial institutions, helps technology and IT entrepreneurs to grow successful businesses and creates jobs through better access to education and training.
“The partnership is a flagship initiative in support of the Nigerian ministry of communication technology’s desire to develop world-class indigenous IT companies in Nigeria,” the statement added.
According to the statement, the Group Managing Director, Interswitch Transnational Holdings, Mr. Mitchell Elegbe, had during his meeting with the entrepreneurs in Lagos said the company was passionate about building technological capacity through the youth.
