ABUJA – Schools in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have been instructed not to admit any child with either high temperature or symptoms of malaria as over 1,200 schools resume on Monday in the territory. The Education Secretary of the FCT, Malam Kabiru Usman, gave the instruction yesterday during the distribution of Ebola prevention/sanitary items to school principals and head teachers in the territory.

Each school was given a carton of hand sanitizer, liquid disinfectants and hand gloves while posters on the use of the items were also presented to school authorities. He said the secretariat had enough of the items which would be available till the end of the year, while more items would be procured if necessary in January. He explained that the hand sanitizers were not meant to be kept in the offices and lockers of principals and teachers, stressing that they should be used by all persons in the schools, while the children were given paramount interest.
