Sports yet to assume business status in Nigeria — Director

MAKURDI – The Director of Sports, Benue Sports Council, Mr David Orngu, said on Wednesday that the nation’s sports had yet to assume business status with the capacity of providing employment to people.

Orngu told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Makurdi that apart from football, all other sports were at the stage of social services in the country. He said those who ventured into it at the moment did so out of personal interest and not for material benefits.

Orngu, a former volleyball national player, called on youths in the Benue with talents in sports to identify sports associations that are relevant to their talents for training. (NAN) [eap_ad_3]
