Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) first vice president, Mike Umeh has said the passion to cement on the achievements of the outgoing board is key to his ambition to replace Aminu Maigari as president of the body.
The incumbent Anambra State FA chairman is one of the seven presidential candidates for Tuesday, September 30, 2014 NFF elective congress in Warri, Delta State.
Umeh said he will hit the ground running immediately as NFF president having been crucial to all the success stories heaped on the tenure of the outgoing president, Aminu Maigari.
“As NFF first vice president and one time acting president in the last four years we’ve actually surpassed the records of past executives in terms of solid achievements, I want to leverage on and further better those performances as NFF president.
“Though the marketing department didn’t attain the first class height we desired it to be I’ll correct the lapses, strengthen the department and make it more viable.
“The League Management Company (LMC) will receive prompt attention to make it potent enough to serve the yearning changes we want to see in our domestic league.

“First, the NFF second vice president will automatically become the chairman of the LMC while it will be encouraged to elect other members of the body.
“Accountability and transparency will be the watchword of the administration and will be answerable to the Nigerians on how it administers football in the land among other key changes I intend to bring upon election as president,” said the former Super Eagles team manager to supersport.com.
Umeh avoided comment on the neutrality of the NFF electoral committee chairman, Barrister Samson Ebomhe known to be the lawyer to the LMC with one of its executive directors, Shehu Dikko as a presidential candidate for the September 30 elections.
“I’m a presidential candidate it’s not for me to pass comment on that rather for Nigerians to do so,” Umeh quipped. (supersport.com)
