IBADAN – With the resumption of Justice Ayo Emmanuel as the new judge of the Federal High Court in Ibadan, proceedings are scheduled to commence on Wednesday.
The Deputy Chief Registrar of the court, Mr Abdulfatah Tahir, confirmed this while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ibadan on Tuesday.
“Justice Emmanuel resumed at the Ibadan Division of the court on Monday and he intends sitting as from tomorrow, Wednesday,” he said.
The new judge took over from Justice Abimbola Obaseki-Adejumo, who was recently promoted to the Court of Appeal.
Since the departure of Obaseki-Adejumo about two months ago, the court had not sat.
Expressing satisfaction with the resumption of the judge, Mr Morakinyo Ayokunle, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) prosecution counsel, said the development would bring life back to the court. (NAN)
