LAGOS – A former Director-General, National Troupe of Nigeria, Martin Adaji, on Thursday urged Africans to ensure cross-border co-operation to promote arts, culture and technology.
Adaji told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that Nigeria and the entire Africa needed technological know-how to develop arts and culture.
“Developments around the world do not pose any challenge to Africans. All we need is to be serious in using what we have to develop things.
“Arts, culture and languages are issues that must be taken seriously by all and sundry; they are never barriers to moving the continent forward.
“Culture ambassadors and enthusiasts should be asking how this generation and the next should hold their heads high in terms of using culture, arts, languages and technology for advancement,’’ he said.

He said that the continent should look for ways to make arts, culture and languages positive forces to be reckoned with. I Adaji added that culture and arts should generate much revenue for Africa.
“The fact remains that Africa has a history, an enduring culture and very enviable artworks.
“Surprisingly African arts and culture are not promoted as they should.
“Through appreciation and application of modern management and promotion techniques, arts and culture will be valuable treasures of socio-economic transformation,’’ he said. (NAN)
