Rabat – Moroccan King Mohammed VI on Thursday congratulated the Moroccan-French Audrey Azoulay on her election as Director General of UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO).
In a message of felicitation, the king said the appointment of Azoulay to the position testified
the high regard member states had on her.
The monarch added that he was convinced that her competence and diversified experience would be her most precious assets in fulfilling this role.
The king extended to Azoulay his heartfelt congratulations and wishes of full success in conducting her mission.
The UN cultural body selected former French Culture Minister Azoulay as its new chief, handing her the keys to revive UNESCO’s fortunes after the U.S. pulled out.
