Awka – Prof. Solo Chukwulobelu, Secretary to Anambra Government (SSG) says Gov. Willie Obiano`s policies and programmes have touched the lives of the people.
He told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Awka on Tuesday that such policies had endeared the governor to the people and they want him to go for a second term.
He said that on assumption three and half years ago, the governor decided to tackle “ headlong,” two big monsters, namely security and power, affecting the state.
“ When he assumed office, he made a pronouncement that a new Sheriff is in town. Criminals were told to leave town or drop their bad habits.
“ The governor has done it for the past three and half years and sustained it. Anambra state is seen as one of the safest places in the country and this policy has endeared him to the people,” he said.
According to the SSG, the governor has recaptured the state from criminals and handed it over to the people.
“ People are now free to return home to marry out their daughters, do burials and engage in other socio-economic activities.
“ Anambra people can now engage in economic activities without any fear. This policy has given Anambra people back their state and the people are happy with the governor,” he said.
Chukwulobelu said the governor`s next line of action was to ensure effective and steady power supply in the state.
He said that government was planning to work with the private sector to set up power stations to provide sufficient power to homes and industries.
“ The next line of action by government in the second term and one of the pillars of the administration is sufficient power supply. The governor is passionate about this and he will implement the programme,” the SSG said.
