ABUJA (Sundiata Post) – Special Adviser to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Pastor Reno Omokri has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to stop blaming Jonathan for what happens in his own bedroom.
Reno made the call in his reaction to the presidency’s accusation to the effect that “Jonathan’s loyalists are responsible for Maina’s reinstatement’.
But while refuting the Presidency’s allegation against the former President with Malami’s admittance of his role in Maina’s saga and the contradiction therefrom, Reno juxtaposed the story on Vanguard Newspaper of October 25, captioned, ‘Maina’s Recall, Promotion: I Acted In Public Interest – Malami’ with Punch of October 26 captioned, ‘Jonathan Loyalists Responsible For Maina’s Reinstatement – Presidency’. He therefore urged President Buhari to stop blaming Jonathan for what happens in his own bedroom.
The former Special Adviser who disclosed this Thursday on his Twitter handle @renoomokri said “Can someone show this to President Muhammadu Buhari and ask him to stop blaming Jonathan for what happens in his own bedroom?”
Sundiata Post recalls that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), on November 2, 2015 declared Mr. Abdulrasheed Maina, the chairman of the Presidential Task Force on Pension Reforms wanted in connection with the alleged stolen of N2 billion pension fund.
However, in a controversial circumstance, Miana was reinstated into the civil service, promoted to the level of director and posted to the Ministry of Interior to head the human resources department. This attracted wide public condemnation and generated heated debate in media.
Consequently, President Muhammed Buhari on October 23 ordered the immediate disengagement of Abdulrasheed Maina from the civil service and directed the Head of Service of the Federation, Winifred Oyo-Ita, to explain the circumstances that led to the recall of Maina and his posting to the Ministry of Interior.
Earlier before the memo from the President, the Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazzau had denied involvement in the reinstatement of the former chairman of the Presidential Task Force on Pension Reforms.
However, documents emerged that indicated that there was a directive emanating from the Office of the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice to the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) directing the reinstatement of the Maina and his posting to the interior ministry.
