GUSAU – The Acting Governor of Zamfara State, Alhaji Sunusi Rikiji, has called on membersof the public in the state to be more security conscious.
He said that tackling insecurity was the duty of everyone.
Rikiji made the call on Tuesday in Gusau when he received a delegation of politicians in the state who decamped from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to All Progressive Congress (APC).
The acting governor, who is the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, said that the issue of insecurity required the efforts of both the government and general public. [eap_ad_2] He said that “each one of us has a vital role to play in the matter”.
According to him, peace and stability are the key to development, adding that the state government, in collaboration with the Federal Government, has been making efforts to ensure peace and stability in the state.
”As a government, we gave priority and full attention to the security sector in order to ensure effective protection of lives and properties of the people of the state,” he said
Rikiji called on the general public in the state to avoid taking the laws in to their hands and urged them to report any suspicious persons among them to the security outfits.
He commended the delegation for the visit, saying that APC was a party that welcomed all.
Rikiji called on other PDP members in the state to join the party.
