JALINGO – The Taraba House of Assembly on Wednesday passed a vote of confidence on the state Acting Governor, Alhaji Garba Umar, and the Speaker, Mr Josiah Kente.
This follows a motion moved by Alhaji Muhammed Abdulkarim, (PDP), representing Ibi Constituency, in the house.
Abdulkarim, in a motion, said the abilities of Umar and Kente in handling the political crisis that engulfed the state occasioned by the return of Gov. Danbaba Suntai from medical trip in London deserved commendation.
“I move to bring to the notice of this house the need to pass a vote of confidence on Umar and Kente given their roles in maintaining peace and development in the state. [eap_ad_2]
“Their leadership qualities deserve commendation by all well meaning Taraba people to encourage them to do more for the state,” he said.
Sixteen out the 24 members of the house that were present at the sitting unanimously adopted the motion.
