According to South African President Jacob Zuma, Zimbabwe’s military has placed President Robert Mugabe under house arrest in the capital Harare after speaking with him, and claims to be ‘fine.’

The move may have been triggered by Mr Mugabe’s decision to sack his sacked deputy, Emmerson Mnangagwa, and put his wife Grace in a better position to succeed him.

Many are tweeting with the hashtag #Zimbabawe and #Mugabe as well #GraceMugabe.

On twitter, the publisher of AFRICAPEDIA, Charles Onyango-Obbo, insists that in spite of the military’s statement that their action wasnt a coup, it most likely is.

”Morning military; if it looks like a coup, walks like a coup and quacks like a coup, then it’s a coup.” his tweet read.
