With Ekwueme’s Death, Nigeria Stands Diminished, Saddened – Owie

Abuja (Sundiata Post) – Chairman of the National Contact Committee of Action Democratic Party (ADP), Senator Roland Owie has informed that Nigeria Stands diminished and saddened by the death of the former Vice President, Dr Alex Ekwueme.

Describing the death of Dr Alex Ekwueme as the passage of a sage, he reminded that throughout the period he was in Politics, Dr. Ekwueme remained a moderating factor in our volatile Polity.

Owie therefore said that the passage of Ekwueme had closed a chapter in Nigeria’s political history.

He recalled as a UPN Legislator in the House of Representatives, that Ekweme treated them with love and never discriminated against opposition legislators in budgetary matters throughout his time as Vice President between 1979 to 1983.

“He was a gentleman, Scholar, businessman and humanist.

Owie, who maintained that Ekwueme stood for a United Nigeria and remained active until he drew his last breath, stressed that the Nation will forever miss great Ekwueme.

He prayed God to grant his soul a place in Heaven.
