LAFIA -The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State on Friday urged all aspirants to elective positions under its platform to have decorum and be decent in their electioneering campaigns.
The APC Chairman in the state, Mr Philip Shekwo, made the appeal while addressing aspirants who picked the Expression of Interest forms at the state secretariat of the party in Lafia.
Shekwo, who was represented by the APC Organising Secretary in the state, Mr Hassan Abubakar 11, urged aspirants to play politics devoid of rancour and sentiments to ensure victory.
“Decorum and decency during campaigns will bring peace, hitch-free electioneering campaigns and will unite members of our party.
“APC is formed to ensure good government and to ensure adequate protection of lives and property; if voted into power, it will bring speedy development to the country,’’ Shekwo said.
He said that the party would continue to initiate people-oriented projects, and urged support for the party.
Shekwo appealed to eligible voters to protect their votes and ensure that their votes would count during the 2015 general elections.
The chairman urged all eligible voters to turnout in large numbers to collect their voter’s cards during the distribution of permanent voter’s cards in the state.

He urged the people of the state and Nigerians at large to live in peace and tolerate one another irrespective of ethnic, religion and political affiliations.
Speaking on behalf of the aspirants, Mr Namo Akpomoshi, who aspires to represent Nasarawa Eggon West Constituency in the state House of Assembly, promised that they would all abide by the party’s guidelines.
He pledged that the aspirants would play decent politics.
Other aspirants that picked the forms include Mr Samuel Meshi and Mrs Hanatu Agya, for the state House of Assembly seats.
They seek to represent Akwanga South and Obi11 constituencies, respectively. (NAN)
