Suspected mobsters kill Islamic teacher in Katsina

KATSINA – Suspected mobsters have killed one Malam Bishir Sagir, 25, at Sabuwar-unguwa in Katsina metropolis.

Eye witnesses told newsmen in Katsina on Wednesday that the incident took place on Tuesday around 9 p.m.

They said Sagir was attacked by the miscreants on his way back home from an Islamic school, where he taught.

“On sighting the teacher, the hoodlums, numbering about 15, stabbed him many times on the body and fled.

“He was rushed to General Hospital, Katsina, where he died as a result of the wounds inflicted on him,’’ one of the eyewitnesses, who claimed anonymity said.

The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Aminu Sadiq, who confirmed the incident to newsmen, said two other persons were also attacked by the miscreants.

Sadiq said two members of the group were arrested in connection with the attack, while investigation was ongoing. (NAN)
