Abuja (Sundiata Post) – Senator representing Kaduna Central at the National Assembly, Comrade Shehu Sani has lambasted the Federal government over its planned clamp down on social media users.
Shehu Sani asked government to rather deploy their energy and resources in targeting and tracking kidnappers, militiamen, terrorists, herdsmen, bandits and Human traffickers instead of dispensing same in monitoring the social media labyrinth.
The comrade senator disclosed this on his twitter handle @ShehuSani while reacting to the Statement credited to minister of Defense, Mansur Dan-Ali.
Senator Shehu Sani tweeted thus: “If the energy, resources and time that will be dispensed in monitoring the social media labyrinth by the state security apparatus, will be deployed in targeting and tracking kidnappers, militiamen, Terrorists, Herdsmen, Bandits and Human traffickers, we will be safer.
Sundiata Post recalls that the Minister of Defence, Mansur Dan-Ali while addressing the State House correspondents after the Federal Executive Council meeting, was quoted as saying that the security agencies have been directed to go after those who are using the social media to propagate hate speech, especially influential persons.
