Kwara pledges more projects despite dwindling revenue

ILORIN – The Kwara State Government on Thursday in Ilorin pledged to sustain infrastructure development in the state in spite of financial challenges.

The Commissioner for Information, Mr Tunji Moronfoye, made the pledge while briefing newsmen.

Moronfoye said that the government would intensify its internal revenue generation effort in order to meet the infrastructure needs of the state.

He explained that the approval of a N2 billion loan by the State House of Assembly for the government was part of the strategies being explored to strengthen the state’s economy.

He restated the government’s resolve to continue to rehabilitate and open up new roads across the three senatorial districts in the state.

He added that the government would also continue to ensure that all monies accruing to the state from the Federation Account was remitted to it. (NAN)
