ABUJA (Sundiata Post) – The All Progressives Congress (APC) has congratulated the people of Ekiti State on the victory of the party in last Saturday’s governorship election. In a statement on Sunday in Abuja by its Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Yekini Nabena, APC said the people had made “the right choice” and promised to reciprocate the trust reposed in the party by working hard to transform the people’s social, economic, and political wellbeing.
APC regretted the indignities of the past four years under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leadership in the state. It promised to restore hope to the state and return the dignity of the Ekiti man/woman, “which the locusts have tried hard to destroy these past four years.”
The statement, titled, “We Celebrate With Ekiti on the Return of Hope,” appealed for support for the incoming APC government of Dr. Kayode Fayemi.

We Celebrate With Ekiti on the Return of Hope
We congratulate the people of Ekiti State on the return of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), to the seat of power and the centre stage of government and politics in the state. You have made the right choice, and we thank you for this. We promise to reciprocate your trust and love by rebuilding your social, economic, and political wellbeing that have been toyed with these past eight years. We shall return hope to the many that have lost it.
APC offers hope, progress, and change. Above all, we offer responsibility and accountability in governance. Having elected to unseat the buccaneers and return power to the party of accountability, here represented by a man who is among the greatest intellects of our time, one of the finest politicians of this era, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, we assure you, the people of Ekiti, that you are on the path of positive change.
APC promises to continue where we stopped some four years ago, when we became victims of daylight political robbery organised and delivered by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). As a party committed to peace and progress, we had taken the loss at that time in our stride, hoping that the days of the thief will finish someday, and one day, it shall be for the owner of the house. The day of the owner of the house has come; it came on Saturday, July 14, 2018.
We call on all the people of Ekiti State, both home and abroad, to identify with this wind of change that has blown across the state. We appeal to you to support and cooperate with Fayemi in this task of restoring the dignity of the Ekiti man/woman, which the locusts have tried hard to destroy these past four years.
Saturday’s feat in Ekiti State is a reaffirmation of APC’s commitment to the delivery of the dividends of democracy across Nigeria.
We read in the media that our opponents said the Ekiti governorship poll will determine what will happen in 2019. We are happy to affirm that a trend of renewed mass acceptance for APC, peaceful polls, and sweeping victory for the party has begun. It will go round the states, and go through to 2019 and beyond.
Once again, we congratulate Ekiti people and the Governor-Elect on this landmark victory.
