ABUJA (Sundiata Post) Yes, previous PDP governments also used the EFCC and the police to hound the opposition, but I thought the APC vowed to be better, to change the practices and rituals of politics. Where’s the change if Buhari’s APC administration is busy corrupting and compromising our security and anticorruption institutions in a more audacious manner? Meanwhile, the EFCC chairman, Mr. Magu, is going around brazenly wearing President Buhari’s reelection campaign lapel pin even as his EFCC solidifies its hyper-partisan reputation by gloating and tweeting unprofessionally vindictive threats against Governor Fayose and other “enemies” of the president. Under the PDP, there was at least some pretense to professionalism and neutrality. The Commission’s chairpersons and twitter handle maintained this posture publicly. The APC-Buhari administration dispenses with such pretense about respect for institutional independence. It’s giving Nigerians the middle finger. They are running a “f**k you” government.
