OGBOMOSO – Rep. Mulikat Akande-Adeola, the Majority Leader, House of Representatives, on Friday in Ogbomoso declared to seek re-election as the representative of Ogbomoso South/Ogbomoso North/ Oriire Federal Constituency.
Akande-Adeola, of the Peoples Democratic Party, reeled out her achievements in the house and also sought support for the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan at the event.
“My records of achievements are there for all to see and I am pleading with you that this election should not be about person.
“It should be about issues, concrete facts and development for most and not for a few.
“I want to assure you as your representative that all I do and will continue to do is to focus on substance and issues,” she said.
According to her, the Jonathan administration has transformed the nation in all sectors and the President deserved to be re-elected for continued transformation of the nation.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Akande-Adeola hails from Ogbomoso town in Oyo State.
The house leader said that she had facilitated a budget of N600million from the ecological funds for erosion control across her constituency.
She said that efforts were in top gear to ensure the completion of the Ogbomoso-Oyo express way to ease transportation for development.
Akande-Adeola said that the clamour for a federal institution by her constituents would soon yield positive result.
Also speaking at the occasion, Mr Jide Adeniji, Chairman, Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA), said that Akande-Adeola deserved another term.
He said that a fresh member in the House of Representatives cannot attain Akande-Adeola’s position today.
Similarly, a PDP leader in the state, Dr Saka Balogun, described the house leader as a credible, passionate leader, who cares a lot for her constituents.
She admonished Akande-Adeola to use her position maximally at developing her constituency, saying they wanted more from her.
NAN reports that the occasion was attended by Chief Sunday Adewusi, a former Inspector General of Police; Mr Shehu Babalola; a former Asst. IGP, Mr Dayo Lawal, a former Chairman, Ogbomoso North Local Government and host of party faithful.(NAN)
