Opponents Are Using Okorocha As A Ploy To Discredit My Governorship Bid – Amuchie

the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has accused his political opponents and mischief makers of being responsible for the birthday congratulations purportedly sent to him by the Governor of Imo State, Chief Rochas Okorocha.

A statement signed on behalf of Sir Stanley Amuchie Campaign Organisation by Nneji Uneze, said: “From investigation carried out by Sir Stanley Amuchie Governorship Campaign Organization, it was obvious that neither the governor nor his aides did author such birthday congratulation on our principal, which indicate that it was the handwork of mischief makers.

“Happily enough, the chief press secretary to the Governor, Sam Onwuemeodo, has just disowned the purported birthday message. It is also pertinent to state here that some detractors have started expressing fears over our principal’s declaration to run for the governorship of the state come 2019.

“There are obvious reasons to state that the birthday congratulatory message was targeted at linking our principal’s governorship aspiration to Governor Okorocha as his preferred candidate being planted in APGA as an alternative to his son-in-law, Uche Nwosu.

“It is also very clear to state that Sir Stanley Amuchie’s candidacy has nothing to do with Governor Rochas Okorocha or his son-in-law, Uche Nwosu. This is so because he had never consulted or discussed his governorship interest with Governor Rochas Okorocha at any point in time. The governor does not belong to APGA and has absolutely nothing to do with his (Sir Stanley’s) candidature.

“What the authors of the congratulatory message did not realise is that the governor has never congratulated our Principal on his birthday before. When he celebrated his birthday last year he was also the Group Chief Financial Officer of Zenith Bank Plc and the governor did not send him a congratulatory message, then why now that he had just declared to run for the governorship of our dear state, Imo?

“Another question the mischief makers did not realise before trying to dragging our principal’s reputation and integrity to the public court is that how many governorship aspirants has the governor sent congratulatory messages on their birthdays? “So, they have failed in their quest to achieve their aim. Imo people already know who is who, and who among the candidates in APGA has the capacity to reposition the state and attract both foreign and local investment to the state.

“As a financial management guru and a person who follows due process in attracting development to the state, creating enabling environment for employment opportunities, making life easier for the less privileged in the society and creating a buoyant economy in our dear state, Sir Stanley Amuchie possesses rich CV to transform the state.

“We are, however, not bothered by the antics of his detractors who are already getting jittery over the overwhelming support and acceptance his manifesto and his candidature has attracted for deciding to answer the clarion call by Imo people to salvage the state.”
