Abuja –   Dr Aminu Mai, the Acting Secretary, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Health and Human Services Secretariat, has pledged to improve the quality of healthcare delivery services in Abuja.
The acting scribe made the remarks during his maiden meeting with various heads of departments, agencies and units of the secretariat in Abuja on Tuesday.
Mai explained that the meeting was to have first-hand knowledge about the activities of the departments and agencies of the secretariat.
He reiterated that government business was a continuous process and charged all hands to be on deck in order to achieve set goals in line with the change agenda of the present administration.
He reminded his colleagues that “as health professionals with universally recognised work ethics, services to mankind and dedication to duties should always be their watch word’’.
“My main objective is to improve the quality of healthcare delivery services in the FCT,” Mai said.
The acting secretary, therefore, solicited the cooperation and support of key stakeholders in order to take FCT healthcare delivery services to greater heights.
Responding on behalf of his colleagues, the Director, Administration and Finance of the secretariat, Alhaji Surajo Faskari, assured Mai of their unflinching support at all times in order to make him succeed in his new assignment.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that some Mandate Secretaries and other political office holders resigned from the services of Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) to participate in the recently concluded political parties primaries.
Consequently, Mai was appointed to oversee the activities of the secretariat.
Prior to his appointment, he was a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, and also the General Manager, FCT Hospitals Management Board.
