Lagos – The police on Monday in Lagos arraigned a security guard, Destiny Monday, 23, over alleged theft of his employer’s laptop worth N252,000.
Monday appeared before a Tinubu Magistrates’ Court along with one Chidera Oduka, 34, on a three-count charge of conspiracy, theft and receiving stolen goods.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor, Insp Ben Ekundayo, told the court that the accused committed the offences on Sept. 12 at Wellmade Health Care Centre, Ajah, Lagos.
Ekundayo submitted that Monday, who was recently employed by the centre, stole the HP laptop at midnight.
He told the court that Oduka received the laptop from Monday with the knowledge that it was stolen.
Ekundayo said that the offences contravened Sections 287 (7) 326 (1) and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The Magistrate, Mrs A. M. Olumide-Fusika, granted the accused bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties each.
She ordered that one of the sureties must be a relation of the accused while the other should be a civil servant.
Olumide-Fusika adjourned the case until Nov. 12 for mention.
