Badagry – The police on Tuesday docked a 32-year-old man, Adebayo Raimi in a Badagry Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State over alleged breaking of a shop containing car batteries.
Raimi is facing a two-count charge of felony and breaking and entry.
The Prosecutor, ASP Akpan Ikem, told the court that Raimi conspired with others now at large to commit the offence on Oct. 21, around 1 a.m at Toll-Gate Bus stop area of Lagos.
Ikem said that the defendant broke and entered a shop containing car batteries belonging to Akintayo Lukuman, the complainant.
He added that Raimi was caught while trying to remove some batteries from the shop, which value was yet to be ascertained.
He said the offences contravened sections 409 and 307 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 (Revised).
However, the defendant pleaded not guilty and the Chief Magistrate, Patrick Adekomaiya, granted him bail in the sum of N200,000 and two sureties in like sum.
He adjourned hearing in the case until Dec. 17.
