PORT HARCOURT – The Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Mr Tele Ikuru, has called on members of All Progressives Congress (APC) in the State to embark on house to house campaign to ensure victory in 2015 general elections. Ikuru made the call in Port Harcourt on Tuesday when the party inaugurated 11 committees to ensure victory for it in the 2015 general elections “Mobilise from house to house because we cannot afford to lose out in the election. “Your work will largely determine our success or failure, be more dedicated and committed to this cause’’, the deputy governor said.
Ikuru said members’ track records earned them membership, and urged them to see themselves as the life wire of the party. “Membership of the committees was not accidental but intentional.’’
[eap_ad_1] Chairman of the party in the state, Mr Davies Ikanya, who inaugurated the committees, charged members to live up to expectations by effecting the desired change. Ikanya described the assignment as a clarion call which every member must be dedicated and committed to for the success of the party in the elections. “Today, we are about to change the political landscape in Nigeria, beginning from Rivers state. We have advocated for change, so it is your duty to make it happen. “We must put an APC government in power in both Rivers and Nigeria and this is the only time we can assert the change properly’’, he said. Sen. Magnus Abe, who is Chairman of Research and Planning Committee, urged the members to ensure the success of APC in all elections. Abe assured members of total support, adding that it was time for the party to take over the presidency and governorship in Rivers. He expressed his appreciation to the party leadership for finding him and others worthy to serve and inject life into the party. (NAN)
