PORT HARCOURT – The Sharks FC of Port Harcourt Manager, Gbenga Ogunbote, on Saturday condemned the handling of the Glo premier league week 5 match between his club and city rivals, Dolphins FC.
Ogunbote told sports writers in Port Harcourt after his team drew goalless with Dolphins that the referee had no reason to disallow a goal scored by his side in the first half.
‘’My striker, Ganiyu Ibrahim, scored a good goal in the 14th minute of the game, only to be disallowed by the referee.
‘’My team was organised and played well only to be disallowed a good goal.
‘’This is football. We can also get a point when we meet Dolphins in their ground in the second round of the league,’’ he said.
Dolphins’ keeper, Sunday Rotimi, said Sharks was a good side and that Dolphins worked hard to hold them at home.
Rotimi said Dolphins were aiming to get a continental ticket at the end of the season and would take all the matches seriously to get the maximum points. (NAN)
