LAGOS – The second season of the TV series “Allison’s Stand’’ premiered on Sunday night at the Oriental Hotel, on Lekki-Epe Expressway, Lagos.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the event was witnessed by some top entertainment personalities, as well as corporate bodies, the media and selected fans of the soap.
“Allison’s Stand’’, which was shot in Lagos, parades popular faces like Ghanaian TV host and actress, Joselyn Dumas, veteran Nigerian actor, Bimbo Manuel, Victor Olaotan, Anthony Ogbetere, Ifeanyi Kalu and Boma Iwowari.
It was produced by Maxima Integrated Media, headed by Mr Oluwafemi Ogundoro.
Entering its second season, “Allison’s Stand’’, chronicles the life of a young and upwardly mobile professional, whose “Independent Woman’’ way of life puts her in an uncertain position where she had to choose between family and career.
The Managing Director of Maxima Integrated Media, Oluwafemi Ogundoro, expressed confidence that viewers and fans of the soap would enjoy another exciting season of the soap.
He said “the first season was successful with over 50 per cent of viewership recorded within eight weeks of its debut on AIT network.
“We have raised the bar for this season, which is what gives us an assurance that “Allison’s Stand’’ is going to be one of Nigeria’s most watched and talked about TV drama series in the year 2015.’’
The event was hosted by Uti Nwachukwu, one of the housemates in Big Brother Africa reality show and he took time to persuade each
member of the cast and crew to talk about their roles and their experience during production.
Ghanaian actress, Josely Dumas, who could not make the event, sent a video clip to express her feelings.
She said “it was an honour to be a part of this interesting crew. I believe Allison’s Stand is a must watch for every family.’’
Bimbo Manuel, also spoke at the event, and encouraged parents to pay more attention to their wards’ activities.
She said “working parents need to find a balance between work and family; they should be able to compromise when the need arises.’’
The producers of the show had gone round to do a random sampling of people’ views on the different scenes in the family circle.
Some of the questions asked were; “would you quit your job to spend more time with your child?’’.
“Would you leave your child with a nanny? and How much time do parents need to give their wards?’’.
People from different walks of life shared their candid opinions on these and more questions in a clip that was shown to guests at the event. (NAN)
