LAGOS – A 42-year-old employee of a courier company, who allegedly stole N2, 051,250, from his employer, was on Tuesday brought before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court in Lagos.
The accused, Olaolu-Oladapo Chijioke, who resides at Isolo in Lagos, is facing a two count-charge of conspiracy and stealing.
The prosecutor, ASP Eranus Nnamonu, told the court that the defendant committed the offences between June and September, while he was an employee of Parcel Post Express Ltd, Oshodi, Lagos.
“The defendant, while in the employment of Parcel Post Express Ltd, connived with some others still at large, to steal from his employer.
“Between June and September, they stole a total of N2, 051, 250 from the company’s coffers”, Nnamonu said.
The prosecutor said that the offences contravened Sections 285 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The Magistrate, Mrs Abimbola Komolafe, granted the accused bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case to Jan. 22, for mention. (NAN)
