LAGOS – Eleven ships are waiting to berth and discharge petroleum products at the various oil terminals in Lagos ports.
The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) said this in its daily publication, `Shipping Position’, made available to newsmen on Wednesday in Lagos.
The document reported that six of the 11 ships were waiting to berth with petrol, two with kerosene, while three others would berth with diesel, base oil and crude palm oil.
It indicated that 10 other ships had also arrived at the ports with food items, used vehicles, buckwheat, containers, bulk sugar and bulk fertiliser.
The document reported that 67 ships, laden with containers, foods, petroleum products and other commodities are to arrive in Lagos ports from Dec. 10 to Dec. 28, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.
The document showed that 25 of the expected ships would arrive with containers of different goods.
It stated that eight other ships would sail in with petroleum products like petrol, aviation fuel, kerosene and diesel.
The document indicated that five ships containing bulk rice and nine ships with fresh fish were also being expected.
It pointed out that 20 other ships would arrive with crude palm oil, buck wheat, used vehicles, bulk sugar, bulk fertiliser, bulk salt steel products and general cargo.
