Abuja – A trader, Kennedy Akugua, who allegedly refused to write a statement to the police in a breach of trust case, on Thursday appeared in a Kabusa Grade I Area Court.
Akugua, Nigeria Labour Congress office area III Garki,FCT is charged with refusal to write a statement.
The Prosecution Counsel, Mahmud Lawal, told the court Ms Queen Omonefe, who resides at No.3 Ngwa street Garki, Abuja reported the case at the Durumi Police station, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Aug, 1.
He alleged that the defendant refused to give a police statement, when a case of criminal breach of trust, cheating, defamation of character and intimidation was brought against him.
The offence, he added, contravened the provisions of Section 43 of the Penal Code Law.
After the charge was read to defendant, he pleaded not guilty.
The Judge, Ibrahim Kagarko, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N200,000 and one surety in like sum.
He adjourned the case until Sept. 4 for hearing
