Kebbi Farmer Solicits Assistance For N12m Kidney Transplant

Birnin Kebbi – A 40-year-old rice farmer in Kebbi, Mukhtar Abdulkadir is soliciting for assistance  to  enable him undergo kidney transplant estimated to cost N12 million.

Dr Tuko Tari, a Consultant Nephrologists at Federal Medical Centre, Birnin Kebbi, who is managing the patient, said on Tuesday in Birnin Kebbi that Abdulkadir was being managed for “end stage kidney disease.”

He explained that the patient has not been able to sustain adequate hemodialysis which for now he required twice weekly.

Tari explained that the patient was also required to be on antihypertensive medications, enythropoestin therapy as well as other supportive medications.

“This treatment is estimated to cost him about N65, 000 weekly,’’ he said, adding that the patient, however, needs kidney transplant estimated at N12 million.

Tari therefore called for assistance from government, organisations and individuals to enable the patient undergo treatment.

The patient, Abdulkadir, popularly known as Dansarki, also called on government, religious organizations, Non Governmental Organizations, philanthropists and others to come to his aid.
