ABUJA – Nigeria’s under-20 male football team, the Flying Eagles, were on Sunday drawn in Group A with hosts Senegal, Congo and Cote D’Ivoire for the 2015 CAF U-20 Championship.
The grouping followed the draws for the tournament, held at the headquarters of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in Cairo, Egypt.
Group B of the competition has Ghana, South Africa, Mali and Zambia.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the semi-finalists at the eight-team tournament will represent Africa at the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup scheduled for New Zealand.
The Flying Eagles have won the tournament on six occasions — 1983, 1985, 1987, 1989, 2005 and 2011.(NAN)
