Yenagoa – The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) in Bayelsa has disclosed that no fewer than 50 graduates have benefited from its 2018 environmental beautification training scheme in the state.

Dr Nasiru Argungu, Director-General of NDE, disclosed this in Yenagoa on Wednesday at the disbursement of resettlement loans to the beneficiaries.

Augungu, represented by Mr Aham Osuchukwu, Bayelsa Coordinator of NDE, said the 50 beneficiaries were trained on soft and hard landscaping and plaster of Paris (POP), adding that they were selected from all the local governments in the state.

He congratulated the entrepreneurs for their sense of responsibility, independence, self-realisation and capability for self-actualisation and fulfilment.

The NDE boss urged them to build on the confidence of a brighter tomorrow, motivated by empowerment in the training they had received.

“I urge you to remember in your sub-conscious that the loan given to you must be repaid as at when due, in accordance with the loan repayment schedule you have received. There is no free lunch anywhere.

“I commend the landscaping service trainers, who had assisted in imparting knowledge, skills, the right motivation and job competencies to our trainees.

“We are very proud of working in partnership with them to accomplish our national aspirations of improving the employability of our youths and closing the skills gap through targeted skills-to-job training,” he stated.

One of the beneficiaries expressed happiness with the training, pledging to support the NDE programme for job creation and empowerment.
