Abuja- The FCT representatives in the 2015 National Qur’anic Recitation Competition began their camping on Thursday.
Alhaji Saidu Yakubu, the Competition Coordinator, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja.
He said the camping became necessary in order to enable participants to master the art of the Qur’anic recitation.
According to him, there are 23 participants comprising winners of first and second positions in the 2014 edition.
Yakubu advised participants to pay attention and to be obedient for smooth and overall success.
He said the participants would be subjected to tests to ascertain individual’s readiness towards the 2015 National Qur’anic Competition.
The coordinator also appreciated the efforts of the FCT Minister, Sen. Bala Mohammed, in assisting and contributing towards the success of the competition.
Yakubu assured the FCT Muslim community of the preparedness of both the committee and the participants in excelling at the national competition.
The National Qur’anic Recitation Competition is slated to hold Jan. 7, 2015 with 34 states and the FCT competing. (NAN)
