By Sadiya Hamza
UNITED NATIONS – UN Secretary-General, Ban Ki-Moon has criticised the government of Sudan’s decision to expel the UN Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator, and the Country Director of the UN Development Programme.
This is contained in a statement issued in New York by Ban’s spokesman, Stephanie DuJarric, made available to the North American correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
Ban said that the sanctioning of UN personnel sent to Sudan to carry out their duties in accordance with the UN Charter was unacceptable.
The UN Secretary-General called on the Sudanese government to reverse its decision immediately and urged it to cooperate fully with all the world body’s entities present in the North African country. (NAN)
