The Nigeria Football Federation have confirmed that they are set to offset the outstanding salaries of the coaches of the various national teams.
This disclosure was made by the Chairman of the NFF Media and Publicity Committee, Emeka Inyama, who revealed that Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi and his backroom staff, who are owed four months’ salary arrears, will be the first to coach receive payment.
“As we speak, the four months outstanding salaries for coaches of the Super Eagles are being processed for payment. Hopefully they will get their alert tomorrow [Wednesday],” Inyama revealed.
“We are also working towards paying the salaries of the coaches of the team up till the month of June, before the start of the Fifa World Cup finals in Brazil.”
Inyama further revealed that the arrears of the other coaches of the various National Teams including those who are no longer serving with the Federation will be settled by next week.
“There is no frosty or icy relationship between NFF and Keshi, and we believe the hullabaloo being created is the work of the fifth columnist,” he added. (kickoffnigeria)
