International Republican Institute (IRI) in partnership with United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the United States Consulate is set to premiere Dreams4Naija, a 30-minute documentary profiling young Nigerians and their expectations and dreams for a future Nigeria on April 11, 2014 at Terra Kulture, Victoria Island, Lagos.
In June 2012, IRI sponsored the filming of a youth media project in Lagos tagged Dreams4Naija; a 30-minute documentary that profiles young Nigerians and their expectations and dreams for a future Nigeria. It captures what Nigerian youths expect and demand from their government, visions for the future, and identifies new and cutting-edge ways today’s Nigerian youths are and will contribute to the development of the country.
Robina Namusisi; Resident Country Director of IRI said “The launch will host Mr. Ray McNally from McNally Temple Associates, California, who was responsible for recording the documentary, as well as Banky W, a popular Nigerian artist with deep youth appeal who played a significant role during the recording of the documentary and who alongside other artistes produced the soundtrack “Change” for the documentary. I look forward to a great event”
The event which will be hosted by Adaure Achumba and Owen Gee will have its keynote address delivered by Mr. Jeffery Hawkins; U.S. Consulate General and a panel discussion on Youth Participation in Politics and Governance as well as Impact of Electoral Violence on Youths with Banky W (Artiste), Yemi Adamolekun (Coordinator, Enough is Enough), Steve Onu (On Air Personality, Wazobia FM), Mojirade Hassan (Student Union Government President, Lagos State University) and Akin Rotimi (Party Youth – Special Assistant to Ekiti State Governor).
