There was confusion at Erusu in Akoko, Ondo state Monday when two young men were rounded off as they were trying to snatch a child from her mother to a waiting vehicle.
According to sources, the mother of the child was struggling with the duo with loud voice for help before the residents of Aga quarters in the town trooped out to overpower the kidnappers.
They were immediately naked by irate crowd for what they described as bad omen in the town.
The timely intervention of the Monarch of Erusu-Akoko, Oba Sunday Mogaji, a legal practitioner who pleaded with his people not to involve in jungle justice, safeguard their lives, if not the suspects would have been lynched to death.
Police from Okeagbe Police Division were contacted to arrest the two of them.
Our source revealed that the two suspects who were kept in police custody at Oke-agbe after preliminary investigation are from Oyin and Erusu but based at Okeagbe-Akoko.
When contacted, the Police Area Commander for Oke-agbe Akoko, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Razak Rauf confirmed that Okeagbe Divisional Police Officer had contacted him and the case had been transferred to state Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Akure.
