ABIDJAN – Cote d’Ivoire’s President, Alassane Ouattara, has urged politicians in that country to work toward achieving a transparent electoral process in the 2015 presidential poll.
The call is contained in Ouattara’s New Year message to the country on Thursday night, made available to newsmen in Abidjan.
He said Cote d’Ivoire’s presidential election scheduled to hold in October 2015 represented a crucial phase in the country’s political life.
He added that “the world is aware of the crisis that occurred after the last election, everybody is watching to see what happens in the October 2015 election.
“Every Ivorian owes the country a duty to support transparency and credibility in the 2015 elections.’’
Ouattara said the country required a peaceful and credible presidential election in 2015 for the country to realise its dream of an emerging nation in 2020.
