ONDO – The organisers of the Akin Akinbobola U-14 Soccer Tournament (AASTON) disclosed on Monday that plans had been concluded for the closing ceremony of the competition on Friday.
The Chairman of the Organising Committee, Kayode Adeyemi, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ondo that the tournament would be declared closed by Sen. Ayo Akinyelure, representing Ondo Central Senatorial District of Ondo State.

Adeyemi said that the tournament had been a huge success.
NAN reports that Akinsoyinu FC defeated Super Marvelous 2-0 in the semi-finals to book a date with Bright Future FC in the final
Bright Future FC had also defeated Marpec FC 5-4 on penalties after the game ended 0-0 to reach the final.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]
He added that Akinyelure would be the father of day, while Chief Ade Adeniyi, Ifedayo Akinsoyinu, Siji Akindiose and Afolabi Akinsiku would be guests of honour.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]
According to him, Messrs Biola Makinde and Wale Akinlosotu, the caretaker chairmen of Ondo West and East Local Government areas of the state respectively will be the chief hosts.
“We have mobilised who is who in the society and schools in the kingdom to grace the grand finale, so, we are expecting a mini-world cup closing ceremony on Friday.
“The LOC have strictly selected secondary and primary schools who will participate in the ceremony,” he said, adding that others were welcome.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]
“We only base the selection on the limited resources we have.
“The tournament has engaged our youths for three weeks and we hope to call the outstanding talents discovered during the competition together and develop them to see football as a career,” he said.
The loser’s final would be between Super Marvelous and Marpec FC by 12 noon on Friday (NAN)
