Oye (Ekiti)- The National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Oye, Ekiti, has commended its members for complying with traffic rules and regulations during the festive period.
The Chairman of the union, Mr Idowu Komolafe, gave the commendation on Tuesday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Oye.
Komolafe said compliance with traffic regulations on speed limit, seat belt use, refraining from drunk-driving and non use of cell phone while driving contributed to an accident-free celebration recorded in the area.

He urged every member of the union to sustain the success achieved during the period by following the basic traffic regulations.
According to him, traffic rules are for the benefit of drivers and commuters and should be taken seriously.
“Every motorist should shun all acts capable of causing crashes on our roads while embracing safe driving culture,’’ he said.

Komolafe also said the union would retain the taskforce set up to monitor its members, warning that erring drivers would be sanctioned accordingly.
He also said that the best behaved driver in the branch would be rewarded at the end of the year so as to motivate others.(NAN)
