ABUJA – Pakistani High Commissioner to Nigeria, retired Lt.-Gen. Asraf Saleem, said that the country has intensified its fight against terrorism, killing about 2,100 terrorists in the past few months.
Saleem disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Abuja.
He said that the crackdown was Pakistan’s national reaction to December’s terrorists’ massacre of school children in the country.

“Right now, terrorists are being hunted across Pakistan with about 2,100 already killed, while a large number of them have been arrested.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]
“The on-going military operation has destroyed the terrorist network to a great extent.
“Condemned terrorists who have been awaiting execution are being hanged while new laws are being passed to hasten trial of terrorism cases,’’ the envoy said.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]
Saleem also said: “Following the school massacre, the President of Pakistan held a meeting of government and opposition parties and forged a united front against terrorism and terrorists.
“With the new national resolve, Pakistan will soon be rid of terrorists.’’[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]
The envoy noted that most of Pakistan’s security challenges were fallout from Afganistan problems. (NAN)
